Penguin Random House Student Competition 2018:
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.
I selected this non fiction title as I am a fan of Hawking's work. My aim was to make a cover moving away from the usual stereotypical views of celestial objects and universe views and attractive to female and male readers alike.
I decided to use Hawking as he is the USP for this title, and an optical illusion that catches the eye and connotes the infinite energetic exchanges at work in the universe, set over a watercolour to bring it authenticity.
